X Marks the Spot
One of the hottest cameras in the marketplace right now is called a Fujifilm X100V. It’s part of their X series of cameras that are little digital marvels.
Part of the consumer fervor for this camera is its scarcity. The manufacturer won’t confirm it, but most observers believe that Fujifilm stopped producing new ones.
The combination of influencers touting it and the fact that it’s a gem of a camera means that the two copies that I bought in 2020 are worth 2.5x as much as I paid.
When I got my first one in 2020, I felt like it wasn’t a good fit for me. I let it sit for six weeks after the first session. I gave it another chance before selling it off. It turned out to be a keeper.
This portrait is from the session that tipped the balance for me. The combination of a great Florida environment and a nice subject allowed the camera to reveal itself to me.
Time will tell how long my affection will hold for this camera. For now, this X camera marks the sweet spot.
