Who’s Watching Whom

When I’m San Diego I always find time for watching things that fly. Most of the time these personal airshows revolve around jet aircraft.

In fact, I choose my hotels based on flight patterns.

The Hilton on Harbor Island has an obstructed view of the naval air station at Coronado. It’s common to see helicopters, fighter jets, and even big transports fly in and out.

The Homewood Suites at Liberty Station is at the departure end of the sole runway at San Diego’s main airport. Every commercial aircraft type in service zooms overhead at full volume.

Sometimes I’ll see an aviation oddball like an AWACS or something even more unexpected.

This little flying machine not only flew by but also stuck around to do some watching of his own.
