Even against someone younger, I’ll take the challenge.
If it must be a sprint, I’ll concede before we start. But you can bet that I’ll still lace up my shoes. I may not win, but I’ll finish. There’s even an outside chance that one or both of us will be very surprised with the outcome.
If I get to pick the distance, my odds will increase.
For me, the longer the better. Not because I’m a distance runner, but because I’m a distance walker. Every day I add another five to seven miles to my body’s odometer.
