Uses of Excuses

“It’s a pretty good patch.”

“That’ll buff right out.”

“Everything has a few cosmetic flaws.”

Those are just a few of the excuses I’ve heard over the years spoken by folks who can’t or won’t get their problems solved.

I’m not talking about just automobiles.

I am acquainted with a drywaller who has told me many times, “Stephen, if you take care of your tools, your tools will take care of you.”

I’ve learned that lesson the hard way a few too many times early in my career. It happened when I could least afford the mistakes but with the upside that the lessons learned lasted decades.
