Unmolded Clay

A fresh canvas for a painter.

A clean wall for a muralist.

A brand new data card for a photographer.

All of these are starting points for the creation of something new. There’s nothing better than an artist getting ready to create something that didn’t exist until this very moment.

In the ceramic studio, it’s the unmolded clay that represents a world of possibility.

Steve’s studio in Cody, Wyoming holds a spectrum of work from beginning to end. What I found most fascinating was all of the ancillaries that are part of his process. Some things are tools, others are just items waiting to find a supporting role in this factory of art.
