If you hear a man in his late 80s talking about motorcycle racing it might be safe to assume he’s reliving long-passed glory days.
Then again, if he has a still-warm racing bike in his driveway you might want to start paying attention to what he’s saying.
If the fellow happens to be Locke McCorkle you’ll want to hang on every word.
Locke is a renaissance man of epic proportions. He’s quite famous for his friendship with Jack Keroack as a Dharma Bum. His life as a racer, businessman, and noted author eclipsed that pop culture association.
I had a great time on our portrait session at his home in Palo Alto. The life lessons I absorbed are still influencing me today.
