People often comment about how great it must be that I can make my living taking pictures.
Well, they don’t know the half of it. It’s fantastic!
Not because success in the arts is statistically unlikely. Not because so many businesses fail. And not because the burnout rate and the inability for many artists to sustain is an ever-present existential threat.
It’s great because I routinely work with people just like this young man in the portrait above. He is an optimist in both words and deeds. He’s the kind of individual that inspires me and reinforces everything great about the power of art.
