Tunnel Vision

“He’s obsessive.”

“She’s strident.”

“That person won’t listen to reason.”

These are criticisms that can taint or diminish people in certain areas of our polite society built around compliance. This does not apply to artists. Great artists, if they hear those things at all, tune out distractions and criticisms.

They walk their own path, which is often times a narrow one.

Like a tunnel.

The best artists don’t care if there’s light at the end of that tunnel because the joy is in the journey.

And that journey is about creation.

Creation at the exclusion of everything else.
