Having visited Tucson on just three occasions, my opinion of the place is still evolving.
There’s a natural appeal to me based solely on the cuisine. On my last visit, two of my favorite meals took place in a downtown food hall that was a ten out of ten.
I know people who go there for the fancy spas. You won’t find me in one unless I’m intentionally hiding where nobody will look.
The scale of the place, however, will confound most outsiders. In short, the city sprawls despite being thinly populated. This makes walking a solitary pursuit.
Tucson is small enough that the day after I did this portrait session at a financial advisory firm, I ran into my subject’s colleague at the Tucson airport.
That’s good karma and bodes well for future visits.
