Maybe you’ve heard the old saying about optimal tree planting. “The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is right now.”
I have no idea when the trees in the background of this portrait were planted. Regardless of the exact date, the timing was perfect for my needs.
The location is Liberty Station in San Diego. It’s a former military property that’s enjoying a second life as commercial hub and occasional backlot for my stock photography.
It has all the amenities that I could want in an urban space. There’s a food hall, Trader Joe’s, and Starbucks. It’s located at the departure end of the San Diego airport so plane spotting is the icing on the cake.
All of that aside, it’s one of my favorite places to work.
