I had a great gig a few years ago for the California Strawberry Commission.
When I say great, I mean really great.
My task was to spend a week in the Bay Area casting talent, finding locations and then shooting the three hero subjects individually.
The casting hit a snag on one of the categories and there was a fair amount of uncertainty about one of the subjects.
But much to my surprise, the client and agency agreed that all the pro talent really didn’t hold a candle to the agency receptionist who we ultimately used.
It’s rare to find a willingness to proceed with a common sense solution but that’s what made this such a great gig.
The late-entry subject turned out to be the best of the batch. Above is my favorite frame from our Marin Hills session.
