Threading the Needle
Question: What do you do when you can’t do what you want to do?
Answer: You do what you can. Or maybe what you should have been doing all along.
Lately, I’ve seen a lot of people making lemonade out of the current bumper crop of lemons.
Commercial work for myself and for my friends is on a permanent pause. I mention that because it’s something I want to do.
However, creativity and creation are alive and well. My best collaborator of 2019 sent me a note late last month about an unformed idea she was testing out. I immediately jumped on her creative bandwagon.
The early-stage project started out with a photography session last week. It is purely documentary at this beginning stage, involving some fabric crafts with a distanced group working toward a common goal.
The best moment of the very brief session was capturing the threading of needles.
It’s a universal beginning that is understood by all.
