Every family has their legends and lore. The best stories get richer as time passes.
The ones that my wife and I refer to most often have to do with our respective grandmothers. The one on my side was about a telephone call that was abruptly terminated and hers was about some cross-state interlopers.
A few days ago my mother told me an anecdote about her childhood that had to do with a rabbit. It was new to me and simply fantastic. Just when I thought I knew everything that could be known, I was treated to a new story that’s going to find a place in the pantheon of our history. I can’t wait to hear her tell my daughters, niece, and nephew.
Like the picture of this bunny, it was hiding in plain sight.
