The Artist as Art

It’s nearly impossible for me to pass by an art gallery window without peering in to see what’s on display.

I’m not a collector, just a gawker.

Katie Lebel’s Atlanta studio is a rarity in that one can observe her at work from the sidewalk. This view of work in progress is way better than a plain gallery of finished pieces.

When I photographed her through the window, I got the best of both worlds with the artist as the art.
