Just as an army travels on its stomach, a professional photoshoot requires a proper lunch. I have some firm beliefs about eating that are part of my regular life. My cardinal rule is that food shall never be consumed in a car. Standing while eating is also prohibited.
It’s interesting how certain photoshoots are memorable just because of the great food.
The best ever took place in a San Diego fire station next to Balboa Park. My client and I joined the firemen and medics for what seemed like a banquet. It was just an ordinary lunch for them. We gathered at a large table stacked with plates of food. Weight benches, emergency tools, and fire engines were close enough to touch.
One of the standard amenities at Silicon Valley companies are the commissaries on site which have incredible food and no cash registers.
I’ve had the pleasure of learning this firsthand at the Googleplex. Three meals in one day with a side of the fastest wifi I’ve ever seen.
