Summer Light

There are only about three weeks of the year when it’s possible to have a bowl of fresh cherries for dessert or even as a simple dinner.

That time of year for me is right now.

The same goes for this kind of directional light. Another element that is a nod to the season is the hot weather when almost everyone is sleeveless just like my subject Megan.

To get to this location I just have to lace up my shoes and walk six or seven minutes from my house. If you know me, you won’t be surprised to know that all I needed for this portrait was a camera and a 50mm lens.

I enjoyed a few freshly-picked cherries on the way too.
