This portrait session took place near the Katy Trail under the Daniel Boone Bridge in St. Charles, Missouri.
French colonizers named the city after their king. The state name originates from indigenous people. The bridge is named after a notable American explorer. The Katy Trail is the reuse of the defunct Missouri Kansas & Texas Railroad, known as Katy.
This kind of place name contemplation is something that happens after the session is over. My thoughts beforehand are always visual. During the session, I’m only thinking of the process.
Afterwards, my thoughts about downtown St. Charles are all about how to get back there for another session.
