To me, a strong portrait begins with the subject’s eyes. I had an easy time on this session because the starting point was so far ahead of most given the presence of the person in front of the camera.
The photo above didn’t make the first cut in the initial edit but I came back to it a few days later and I realized that it had a certain quality. As time passes, it just grows on me more and more.
A great location and some pretty good light were more than enough to make me forget about the summer heat and humidity.
