Street Studio: Honolulu

I’m sure to the locals of Honolulu my choice of this location adjacent to Waikiki might not be what you’d expect from a freshly-arrived mainlander. But I had very short time window and I’m always up for the challenge of elevating the commonplace to a higher level.

But to me, this part of the city is quite a real paradise. Yes it’s crowded, but great places usually are. It’s also true that when stripped of context, this part of the city is like any other big American city.

But having a constant breeze with the smell of the ocean amplified my creativity. Having Diamond Head visible in the distance made it all the more memorable.

All of that aside, I had a great subject with a spirit that was equal to her surroundings.
