Street Studio: Honolulu

I’ll be the first to admit that a morning session in Honolulu is as good as it gets for any working photographer. Working in this kind of paradise is a nice offset for all the times I’ve frozen in places like Cleveland, Boston and Toronto.

The meeting place was St. Augustine Church in sight of the beach at Waikiki. I chose that for no other reason than it’s the kind of church that I always wanted to attend and it’s a well-known landmark. It didn’t hurt that it was around the corner from where I was staying.

Other than working in an urban paradise, the session was like most of my others. A mirrorless camera was what I used that day with a normal lens and a little fill flash.

Simplicity works everywhere and Honolulu was no exception.
