When I work here I have everything I need at my fingertips. There’s a great hotel on the coast highway that’s within walking distance to the best locations in town.
I’m not much of an early riser but when I’m on Pacific time I can’t help but be up early. That’s when I head down to the pier to get a coffee and look for something new in the reassuringly familiar landscape.
The place has a strange mix of constancy and transition. The buildings and businesses seem to be ever-changing. The people and the climate are solidly reliable.
That’s not bad for an accessible slice of paradise.
