Stars & Stripes CV
My world is one in which proof, in the form of a portfolio, trumps degrees, laurels, and accreditation.
The first time I was asked to supply my CV, I had to reply that I didn’t know what it was. The person asking had a few tut-tuts at my expense.
That exchange elicited some pity. Not from him for me, but from me for him. I thought, “what a sad world he inhabits.” That happened a long time ago. Upon reflection, I have figured out how to describe my capabilities within the framework of a credential.
The simplest way would be to show one of my many photographs that incorporate the American flag, like this one from Cody, Wyoming.
Each one of those fifty stars represents a state where I’ve worked. I’ve been to all of them with my camera. All but two, Alaska and North Dakota, have hosted me multiple times.
It looks like an accidental CV has been staring me in the face for the 1635 days in a row that I’ve been writing this blog. See for yourself below.
