Street Studio: San Francisco

When casting, I always hope for the best. But I also temper my hopes with experience.

Like a bell curve, there’s a big wide middle of “normal distribution” with small ends on both sides. In short this means that for the most part my subjects arrive and are prepared as you would expect professionals to be. In a few instances things are extreme in the positive or the negative.

I try to minimize uncertainty by giving very detailed instructions that cover all aspects of the photography process from beginning to end.

When Mr. Lee inquired about additional wardrobe guidance for our street session, I simply advised him to wear something that made him equally comfortable and confident.

I hardly imagined that he would arrive in a bespoke suit from Hong Kong. He explained that he felt his absolute best when he was wearing his best clothes. Based on the results, he’s absolutely right.
