My daughter has been a Californian for almost three years.
Her transformation from a four-season Missourian to a full-fledged Angeleno is complete. I know this because she will often mention that she misses the changes of seasons, then goes on to complain about how cold it is when she visits.
My tolerance for cold weather diminishes year on year. I never need an excuse to fly away from winter.
Aside from a few weather anomalies, the temperatures at home have been keeping pace with winter. So it was quite a thrill to see this eruption of green from some cold dark soil.
This first sign of the new season segues nicely into the upcoming time change.
I couldn’t be happier.
