There’s a place I go nearly every day when I’m not on the road.
It’s officially called the Jewish Community Center but everyone calls it The J. The J is where my gym is located and I’ve been a member there for nearly twenty years.
There’s nothing that I don’t like about the place. The physical facilities are unrivaled and I can choose to be left alone while I think and exercise or I can interact with my fellow members.
What I like best about the place is the welcoming posture and an unending source of activity over an above the fitness aspect. There are organized and unorganized sports going on all day. Right now we’re in the middle of basketball season and both courts are booked wall to wall with league play.
Sportsmanship and fair play are always on display here along with a very wise reminder on the score-keepers table.
