Small Pharma

In my days of creating visuals for pharma ads, the framework was pretty simple. Hire an actor or model who looked fit and healthy. Of course, these kinds of people didn’t require pharmaceutical interventions.

Unlike today, there was no committee of agency and client reps overseeing every microscopic aspect of the photo session. As in, down to the selection of shoestrings. This session from 2000 was a real hands-off event. It was just me, my assistant, ad agency creative director and the model. The “small pharma” client wasn’t even in the same time zone.

I’m not saying that the fictional creations that I helped make so long ago are any better than those of today. I do know that they were much more fun to make.
