“This building will be the gold standard for class A suburban office space!”
I can imagine that similar flowery language was part of the pitch for this very odd office tower in suburban St. Louis. Maybe the closer was that it would be “solid gold.” I’ve seen similar-looking buildings in Dallas and Atlanta, all of the same 70’s era. To me, the only gold item from that era that stands the test of time is a Firebird.
This strange building sits by itself, surrounded by a mix of retail and hospitality businesses.
It’s a vibrant district and I suspect that the building’s occupancy is pretty high. Certainly higher than the downtown core which is in a real malaise.
Not for nothing, none of those downtown buildings are gold.
