See The Key
There’s no real training that addresses the ability to “see” while out in the world. The best way is through deliberate repetition. Or what is better known as practice.
When I was walking around Hagerstown, Maryland with my camera, I wasn’t looking for anything in particular. The thought of coming across a set of keys left in a back door wouldn’t make the list of possibilities.
For some reason, my eye was drawn to it immediately. That was lucky in two ways. First, the barber didn’t lose his keys or get caught up in a hide-and-seek game. Second, I got a pretty nice picture out of the deal.
