Sarasota Heat Sink
Imagine the hottest place in Sarasota.
It’s probably not the beach in summer. That’s because the beach can’t be hotter than the inside of a dry cleaner at high noon.
Even in December, when this photo was made, the heat that was escaping from these masonry vents nearly singed my flesh.
I’m sure the black tar roof made things toastier, as did the asphalt parking lot.
Call it the ultimate heat sink.
With all of that agony, I could only image how it felt on the inside.
