No excuses: Rainy day edition

The best actors adhere to the ethos of “no small parts” which means that they bring their all to our brief photography sessions. This benefits me immensely as a creator. It’s also a joy for me to watch these performances within the frame of my camera as an audience of one.

In exchange for what I get, I have a responsibility to provide a professional environment for the performance of each actor. In short, I need to keep my promises.

This session was on the brink of postponement because it was raining like a monsoon. It would have been easy for me to have canceled or postponed but doing that to my subject would have been unacceptable.

In the world of “the show must go on” attitude, we figured out a solution which involved working under cover on an 8th Avenue sidewalk not far from Times Square.

In the end, the results of the “less than desirable weather” turned out to be a creative enhancement that gave this session a unique quality.
