Public Square Version 6.0

I take a certain pleasure in revisiting familiar places. This is almost as interesting as going to somewhere new.

Seeing a place many times in different conditions can lead to a better understanding of things that are both old and new.

The view from this 39th-floor window in downtown Cleveland was my sixth time standing in the very same spot. Each time was particularly unique.

Yesterday’s visit had the presence of some sunshine, which I’m told is nothing short of a miracle for December.

It wasn’t the kind of sunlight that you’d see on a summer day. Instead, it was a directional light that had a quality that I couldn’t quite define until I evaluated the photograph in black and white.

The move to monochrome made all the difference.
