Proximity Sensor

How close is too close for a portrait?

Like everything else in art, the answer is conditional. There’s no such thing as a proximity sensor to automate the process.

In this case, I was using a camera with a 40mm lens. That’s not exactly a portrait lens.

That required invading the subject’s personal space a bit.

Luckily, she was cooperative in the moment. The result is a photograph that I’m proud of and a historical document of someone special to me.
