Pop a Cork

How many corks does it take to cover a wall in a suburban St. Louis restaurant?

Too many to count.

This is not a restaurant review, though the food is always good. The dining room is comfortable but it’s as loud as a beach party during spring break.

The quirky, or corky, decor isn’t limited to castoff parts of empty wine bottles. The bathrooms have Elvis playing on an endless loop to possibly distract from some very strange wallpaper.

It’s pretty clear that I don’t know much about the business of feeding and quenching thirst.

All I know is that restaurant failure rates make the pursuit of an art career look sensible.
