I’m often asked if I have a favorite location for photography. There is no harder question to answer after working in all 50 states and 22 countries.
That’s why I qualify my response by saying that there’s not a single favorite, but there are places that I return to over and over again.
One of those is Del Mar, California.
I’m drawn to that coastal town for the climate and the light. Even though it’s small enough to walk from one end to the other without breaking a sweat, there are hundreds of spots in between to create compelling portraits.
This one is in front of the Del Mar Public Library which I think you’ll agree is a fantastic starting point for capturing the essence of a compelling subject.
