Palm Springs Greenery

There’s nothing in Palm Springs that is naturally green. While it’s true that plants grow there, none of what is there today would exist without human intervention.

The desert landscape, even with the overlay of civilization, is an endless color wheel of brown shades. When your eye catches even the slightest hint of green, it’s startling.

Roman, my subject, met me for a session in a courtyard behind a famous coffee shop on Palm Canyon Drive. When I walked through the gate, the colors had an immediate impact. It was a true desert oasis.

The green on green layered look that Roman was sporting was a perfect addition to the visual tableau.
