In his biography from 2010, Keith Richards talks about his ability to go without sleep for days. He claims that he did this as a life enhancement for both work and play. All of his awake time was facilitated by high-grade Bolivian marching powder and other chemical wonders.
Whether or not it was time well-spent is debatable.
I prefer to follow the “via negativa” path. This is a convoluted way of applying a philosophical approach to practical living by not doing something that will require fixing later.
Not needing is always the best option.
