Overland Park Paradise

If you knew how much slack I’ve been cutting hotels lately, you’d think I travel with gardening shears.

-Skeleton staff.

-Rooms that are just clean enough.

-Cutlery made of plastic.

-Curtailed coffee service.

Prior to the madness of 2020, any of these shortcomings would be deal-breakers for even the most patient business traveler.

For now, they barely elicit a shrug.

The reality is that I’m so glad to be getting paid to take pictures that complaining about hotel flaws just seems small.

My stay in Overland Park, Kansas two nights ago had all of those hiccups.

However, when you have a desire to just be back on the road, a threadbare Doubletree is nothing short of paradise.
