Outside Looking In
Being able to watch someone create on their own turf never gets old. Studio visits are always informative. Using my camera as a passport allows me access to places not readily available to most people.
My recent road trip to Oxford, Mississippi revolved around documenting the work of artist Cindy Aune.
Normally, I’m on the outside looking in. In this case I asked Cindy to stand on the other side of the door while I made her portrait.
It made for an interesting reversal.
