“Orange you…. I mean, aren’t you glad I painted this wall such a great shade of orange?”
That’s me imagining the voice of the owner of the San Francisco building that became my portrait background.
This beautiful wall is what someone might call a “happy accident.” My subject Fred and I were having a pleasant time working on the street. We weren’t heading to anyplace in particular so it was a big surprise when we turned the corner and noticed something extraordinary.
Success has two basic ingredients; luck and skill. Everyone’s ratio is different.
The recipe for this specific success was heavy on the luck. I had the skill in the form of experience to know that this was where something great was about to happen.
