Open to interpretation

Is meaning always required? Is the artist’s intent a factor in one’s appreciation of art? I struggled with that mightily in art school. The struggle was so profound that I quit art school.

Fortunately I ended up studying journalism which was better aligned with my sensibilities.

I much prefer to create works that are open to interpretation. I trust the viewer to decide.
