Rarely does a year pass without an opportunity for me to spend some time in Destin, Florida.
Even though it’s in the same Florida as Miami, Orlando and Key West, it’s in a completely different realm. It’s much more Southern than Latin.
The white powdery beaches are what set it apart from the rest of the state. That’s the biggest draw for the tourism trade. That goes for all of coastal Okaloosa County.
The quality of the light and reflective nature of the sand and water make it a paradise for outdoor photography. That’s the biggest attraction for me. Hopefully, it won’t be long before I’m back making portraits like this again.
