Nutty Names

There’s no shortage of nutty names that US states bestow upon themselves and their citizens.

Sooners. I still don’t understand this one. But like most things about Oklahoma, I’ll not waste my time trying to find out.

Hoosiers. Where I live, it’s used as a slur rather than a proud superlative for residents of Indiana.

My state is called “The Show-Me” state which clearly should be updated to “the show me how to drive” state.

Ohio is the Buckeye state. That might be fitting too given all the nuts on display.
