Stonehenge, the pagan monument aligned to the solstice sun, has a rival in New Orleans.

It’s not in the French Quarter or in Treme, but at the airport.

It’s a brand new temple to air travel. Had it not been for the rebuild of New York LaGuardia, it might be the best one in the USA.

The old place is across the runway and still in a state of decrepitude that only a bulldozer can fix.

Seeing the sun shine through in such a profound way was the perfect send-off for my latest visit.
