A new arrival to St. Louis might be forgiven their disbelief upon hearing that today’s weather is about to change substantially.
One might hear, “but I’m sweating in this heat and the sun is tanning me!” Or, “this is a hoax!” And maybe, “where is your evidence?”
Normally I would say that the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. In this case, I’ll let these few red euonymus leaves tell the story. If you’re listening they speak as clear as a burning bush, the plant’s namesake.
Around here, the color change means something and it’s never wrong. Very soon these leaves will be fiery red and the change of season will be complete.
It’s worth noting that just because one hasn’t seen nature at work doesn’t mean nature isn’t working.
