N.O. Reservations

There’s something about New Orleans that always gives me pause.

The half dozen times I’ve been there for work always leaves me with more questions than answers. In short, nothing is ever as it seems.

On one visit, I had a brand new rental car with only a few hundred miles on the clock. As I was driving down a side street, it stalled. This was no jalopy, it was a modern fuel-injected sedan with a full tank of gas.

It started up again as if nothing happened.

To me, the ambient sounds of this city are like no other. It’s as if I’m listening to ghosts, albeit ones that are genial and looking for fun.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that there are a lot of storefront psychics. This one in particular had a pretty nice sign. None require reservations, but I suppose that’s because they know you’re coming.
