Carelessness is expensive.
The wasting of materials, time, or even reputation when hurrying seems unforgivable to someone with experience. Sadly, the best way to learn this concept is to make these mistakes. If you’re like me, there might be multiple errors on your tally sheet.
Some of my legendary career goofs happened when I was a salaried employee at a wealthy university. Others happened when I was a freelance photo assistant.
For the last 30 or so years, my mistakes affected my own bottom line, which is more than fair.
While it may be a cliche to measure twice and cut once, I do it with regularity while wearing a belt and suspenders. My subject Scott in Powell, Wyoming operates the same way.
