Just One More

Stephen King in his masterpiece memoir On Writing has a little saying that goes like this, “if I had a nickel for every time….. I’d have enough money to buy a pretty good steak dinner.”

In my life, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve said, “just one more” I’d have enough money to buy a pretty good steak dinner for all my blog subscribers.

Today I had the chance to say it 17 times while on a session across from Rockefeller Center. That’s because just when I thought it was over, I’d see something new.

Working on the street in this neighborhood never disappoints. Although today was a challenge thanks to some thick overcast and intermittent rain.

You might think that these conditions are a deal-breaker. In truth, it’s the best opportunity to smash complacency.

Even when we were off the street and waiting for the elevator, I saw just one more.

And I didn’t let the opportunity pass.
