Just For Kids

You can’t really know Portland until you’ve seen it for yourself.

There’s a lot of overlap between perception and reality as portrayed in their popular infomercial.

There might be something in the air or in the water that makes this so. Thanks to the incessant rain, it’s often hard to tell the difference between the air and the water. In my seven visits, I can only recall one in which I didn’t get soaked.

In Portland, tattoos and body piercings seem much more mundane. After just a few hours there I start to find myself nodding approvingly at flannel.

When I was in town last month, I noticed this menu for children at a brewpub that I still can’t quite comprehend.

Having lived a lot of my adult life in a beer town, I can’t remember seeing beer-related coloring games for sober youths.

Maybe I’ll figure it out on my next visit.
