It’s A Rental

I just looked at the prices for renting a car in Detroit in April.

It’s easily 3x what it would have cost in 2020.

Of course, the world has changed. So has the travel industry. For me, paying more for a tattered econobox than for a plane ticket is a bridge too far.

That doesn’t mean I condone treating a hired car the way this rental bike in Austin was treated.

The last user couldn’t even be bothered to use the kickstand.

Maybe someday we can have a bit more civility, even if Avis is the beneficiary.
