Intended Consequences

When the unexpected happens I can rely on my experience to counteract what I can’t control.

But there’s plenty that I can control.

I can, and do, arrive early. In fact, getting to where I’m  supposed to be before everyone else pays staggering dividends.

Treating people with a level of decency is another success multiplier.

The most important words that can be spoken are “please” and “thank you.” Not only do they have a powerful effect, but they also obviate the need to use undesirable words such as oops, dammit and sorry.

The session with this spiky-hair fellow might rendered just average results. Except, in this case, I arrived very early to our agreed-upon location. While I passed the time, I noticed a more compelling location around the corner.

A brief chat with the owner of the better property resulted in an invitation to do our session on his premises.

The opportunity happened so fast that I didn’t even get the chance to say “please” though I made up for it with quite a few “thanks” as well as some session-après coffees and snacks.
